On March 4 2024, at 13.05 WIT, in Balai Wilayah Sungai Maluku (Maluku Provincial River Regional Office), Jl. Mr Chr. Soplanit Rumah Tiga, Ambon City, a demonstration took place by the Persatuan Mahasiswa Pecinta Tanah Air Indonesia/Indonesian Homeland Lovers Student Association (PMPI) Maluku. The demonstration was attended by 12 people from PMPI Maluku, led by Imran Rahakbau (site coordinator) and the oration was led by Risman Solisa (Chief of PMPI Maluku). The demonstration was aimed at voicing aspirations regarding alleged corruption by the Maluku Provincial River Regional Office regarding a number of projects
Meanwhile, the demands in the demonstration included:
Demanding that the Maluku Provincial River Regional Office be held accountable for the project report which allegedly indicated corruption by the Maluku Provincial River Regional Office together with three project contractors.
Demand that the High Prosecutor's Office investigate and follow up on allegations of corruption by the Maluku Provincial River Regional Office.
Demanding that the authorities imprison the Head of the Maluku Provincial River Regional Office over an alleged corruption case with project contractors that caused losses to state finances worth 28 billion.
Risma Solisa said, "The Head of the Maluku Provincial River Regional Office has committed corruption which has impoverished the people of Maluku, so don't be surprised if the people of Maluku are getting poorer every day, because the officials who sit in the Maluku Provincial River Regional Office are busy committing corruption with project contractors which is detrimental to state finances as much as Rp. 28 billion."
